328 events In 2016, there were 328 marathons and related sports events registered with the Chinese Athletics Association, an increase of nearly 1.5 times compared with last year, of which 122 events were co-sponsored with the Chinese Athletics Association.
2.8 million total entries In 2016, a total of 2.8 million people participated in marathons and related sports events registered with the Athletics Association. The number reached a record high, an increase of 1.3 million compared with 2015. The total number of participants in the competition throughout the year was nearly seven times that of 2011.
Looking forward to 2017, the goal is to have more than 400 national marathon and road running events, and by 2020, more than 800 events, with more than 10 million participants, to meet the multi-level, personalized and diversified fitness needs of the masses to the greatest extent.
In 2016, XTEP continued to be the sports brand that sponsored the most marathon events in China, and we were the only sports brand sponsor in each event we sponsored. In 2016, XTEP further became an officially recognized partner of the Chinese Marathon by the Chinese Athletics Association. XTEP also won two awards at this annual meeting, namely the 2016 China Marathon Development Contribution Award and the 2016 China Marathon Annual Meeting Contribution Award, demonstrating XTEP's support and promotion of China Marathon and its leading position in the running industry.
Looking back on 2016, XTEP sponsored a total of 24 important marathon events held in major cities such as Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, and Xiamen (2015: 17 events). In addition to marathons, we also sponsored or organized 20 running events. . The total attendance for the 44 events exceeded 760,000. After nearly ten years of hard work in China's running industry, according to a survey conducted by Yuepao Circle at the four most high-profile marathon events in China (Beijing Marathon, Shanghai International Marathon, Guangzhou Marathon and Xiamen International Marathon), it was found that among the three Among the running shoes worn by runners who completed the race within 1 hour, XTEP ranked first in the domestic industry.
The above results come from our focus on running as a core strategic sports category. We believe that sponsoring marathon events is one of the most effective tools for us to reach our target audience - Chinese runners. Through each event, we can reach a large number of participating runners and gain high attention from the media. In 2017, we will also sponsor more running-related events and activities, and strive to become the first choice brand for runners.
